Govt executing development projects in province: Kamal

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan says the government is executing development projects in the province at a fast pace.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of newly constructed Phase-I of Sabzal Road in Quetta, he said effective measures have been taken for the improvement of the health sector while sports complexes are also being established in all the districts of the province to promote sports activities.

The Chief Minister said dams are being constructed to overcome water scarcity in the province. (QUETTA…SAQIB)

AJK President urges students to use their knowledge for welfare of humanity

Azad Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan has urged students to use their knowledge for the welfare of humanity.

Addressing the 18th convocation of University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in Muzaffarabad today (Friday), he said we can not only turn Azad Kashmir into a cradle of knowledge but also can transform the territory into an engine of growth for Pakistan.

Later, AJK President awarded medals and shields among positions holders.

Production of honey, saffron & olive will enhance country’s export: Governor KP

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman says the production of honey, saffron and olive will enhance the country’s export.

Chairing a meeting in Islamabad, he said the Southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Karak, Kohat, Lakki Marwat and tribal areas are more suitable for production of berry honey and olive.

He said Saudi Arabia and China are taking keen interest in the cultivation of honey and olive in the province

Govt focusing on vaccinating maximum people in short time: Yasmin

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid says government is focusing on vaccinating maximum people in short time, as per day, around 300,000 people are being inoculated.

In a statement, she said around 80 percent of government employees have been vaccinated against Covid -19.

She said delta variant of COVID has been diagnosed in recent tests and it is much dangerous as compared to other variants as it spreads very fast. The Minister said government has taken special steps to prevent the spread of virus on the occasion of Eid ul Adha.

Meanwhile, Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid called on Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in Lahore and briefed him about the arrangements made for dealing with the fourth corona wave.

Expressing concern over the hike in corona cases, the Chief Minister directed for effective implementation of SOPs. He urged the citizens to be more careful as the infection is soaring due to non-implementation of SOPs.
