Cabinet committee reviews preparedness for possible floods

Punjab Minister for Tourism, Taimoor Khan Bhatti and Chief Secretary Jawwad Rafiq Malik chaired a meeting of Cabinet Committee for Disaster Management in Lahore.

During meeting, arrangements to tackle monsoon related situation and expected flood were reviewed. The meeting decided on public swimming in rivers, canals and nullahs, owning to deaths there recently.

Addressing the meeting, Provincial Minister said that flood situation can be tackled successfully with better planning.

PDMA issues flood alert in naullahs of Peshawar, Mardan

Provincial Disaster Management Authority issued flood alert in Kalpani Nullah Mardan and Budani Naullah Peshawar due to heavy rains.

It said that heavy rains downpour may trigger landslides in vulnerable areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Deputy Commissioners of all districts and all departments concerned have been advised to remain alert and take all precautionary measures in order to avoid human loss and damages of property.

Buzdar visits mausoleum of Mir Chakar Azam Rind to review restoration work

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar visited the mausoleum of Mir Chakar Azam Rind at Satghara near Okara to review the restoration work.

He laid a floral wreath over the grave and offered Fateha for the departed soul.

Talking on this occasion, the CM said the Punjab government had restored the grandeur of the mausoleum of Mir Chakar Azam Rind and this step was a strong message of brotherhood and affinity to the Bloch people.

He said that the Punjab government had promoted provincial harmony while giving a message of brotherhood to the people of Balochistan.

PM performed balloting of LDA City Apartments in Islamabad

Prime Minister Imran Khan performed the balloting of LDA City Apartments in Islamabad on Thursday.

The LDA City Apartments is a joint venture of Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority (NAPHDA) and Lahore Development Authority (LDA), under which four thousand flats are being constructed.

Two thousand flats will be given to those registered with Naya Pakistan Housing and Development Authority while the remaining two thousand flats to the ones registered with the LDA.

For each apartment, the government will provide a subsidy of three hundred thousand rupees.

The total price of each apartment is 4.7 million rupees. The applicant will merely pay ten percent as a down payment whilst the remaining amount will be paid through easy instalments to the banks in a period between five to twenty years.

The process of paying instalments will begin after the apartment is handed over to the applicant.

CM Balochistan seeks PM help for rederssal of electricity crises in Makran Division

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has written a letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan for resolving the current electricity crisis of Makran division.

In the letter, he requested the Prime Minister to direct Power Division to take up the case with Iranian authorities.

He said the division was energized by Quetta Electric Supply Company through an rrangement with Iran.

He added as per agreement, Iran was supplying 100 megawatts of electricity through 132 KV transmission line, which was sufficient for the population of the area, currently connected with the distribution system.

He said the estimated total demand of electric power of the division was around 150 megawatts.
