Billions of rupees being spent for public welfare mega projects in Lahore: Buzdar

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has said that billions of rupees are being spent for public welfare mega projects in Lahore.

In a statement issued from Lahore on Friday, he said Lahore is heart of Pakistan and we will make Lahore more beautiful.

He directed to complete mega projects in stipulated period of time and no compromise will be made on quality of the projects.

The Chief Minister said that delay in projects will not be tolerated.

PM, MNAs, Punjab Energy Minister discuss political situation

Members National Assembly Mir Khan Muhammad Jamali and Sadaqat Ali Abbasi and Punjab Energy Minister Dr. Akhtar Malik called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad on Friday.

They discussed party restructuring in Balochistan and the province’s political situation.

Mir Khan Muhammad Jamali thanked the Prime Minister for providing record funds from the PSDP for Balochistan.

The Punjab Energy Minister briefed the Prime Minister about the steps taken to address energy issues in the province.

Senator Zeeshan Khanzada and MNAs Gul Dad Khan and Gul Zafar also called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad on Friday.

Special Assistant Malik Amir Dogar, Senator Saifullah Niazi and MNA Amir Mehmood Kayani were also present on the occasion.

The progress in the ongoing development projects being executed in the merged districts was discussed in the meeting.

Meanwhile, ticket holders from Bahawalnagar also met Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Political situation and public issues were discussed in the meeting.

Those who met the Prime Minister included; Shoukat Mahmood Basra, Mamtaz Ahmed Matiyana, Malik Muzaffar, Abdullah, Ahtesham Lalika, Nadeem Shah, Mian Fiyaz Sikandar, Shahid Imran Teja, Kashif Naveed and Abdul Wahid.

All schools in Sindh to reopen from Monday

In Sindh all public and private educational institutions under administrative control of School Education and Literacy Department will be reopened from Monday.

According to a notification issued in Karachi today (Friday), the decision was taken on the recommendation of working committee of Steering Committee on Education and with approval of competent authority.

According to the notification, the schools will remain open six days a week and fifty percent attendance of students on alternative days would be ensured.

All educational institutions will ensure 100 percent vaccination of teaching and non-teaching staff by producing evidence to the concerned regional heads.

One terrorist killed in ‘befitting’ response to firing at check post from inside Afghanistan

Terrorists from inside Afghanistan across the international border, opened fire on a military post in Lower Dir district.

Pakistan Army responded in a befitting manner and in the exchange of fire, one terrorist was killed and two to three got injured.

However, due to terrorists’ fire, Havaldar Gul Ameer resident of Lakki Marwat got critically injured and embraced shahadat, while under treatment at the hospital.

COVID-19: KP Govt decides to keep markets closed for two days in a week

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to keep the markets closed for two days in a week across the province in wake of rise of coronavirus cases.

The decision was taken in a meeting of provincial anti-corona task force chaired by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in Peshawar on Friday.

The task force expressed its concerns over rapidly rising Covid cases and negligence of implementation of SOPs in some districts.

It was therefore decided to ensure strict implementation of the SOPs and precautionary measures in the province.

The meeting also decided to take assistance from Pak Army in this regard.

The meeting also paid special consideration on blocking of mobile phone SIMs of people who would not get vaccinated by 15th of next month.

11 died when fire erupted in chemical factory in Karachi

At least 11-worker died and two members of a fire fighting team injured as fire erupted in a chemical factory in Mehran Town Korangi area of Karachi on Friday.

Rescue teams are busy to extinguish the fire while the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

Rescue teams said that the dead bodies have been found on the second floor of the factory.
