KABUL (Reuters) -Afghanistan’s Taliban government ordered women on Saturday to cover their faces in public, a return to a signature policy of their past hardline rule and an escalation of restrictions that are causing anger at home and abroad. Pakistan police arrest 8 men over apparent religious killing

Pakistani police say they arrested eight men of the Ahmadi sect of Islam on Saturday who had opened fire on a group of Sunni Muslims the night prior, killing one and wounding another. Senior officer Faisal Mukhtar said the Ahmadis shot at the Sunnis while they were chanting religious poems in the village of Bahuman, near Lahore in the eastern province of Punjab. Riaz Pirzada directs to ensure compliance of job quota for persons with disabilities

Federal Minister for Human Rights Riaz Hussain Pirzada has directed to ensure the compliance of job quota for persons with disabilities.

In a statement in Islamabad on Saturday, the Minister said in this regard an official correspondence has been sent to 29 federal ministries and divisions.

He said Ministry of Human Rights will take all possible steps for the rehabilitation of PWDs to ensure them a dignified place in society.

Rana Tanveer leaves for Saudi Arabia to attend Int’l conference on education

Minister for Education Rana Tanveer Hussain has left for Saudi Arabia on a five-day official visit where he will attend an international conference on education.

Rana Tanveer Hussain will also hold a meeting with his Saudi counterpart on education matters and bilateral cooperation.

During his stay, the Minister will also visit Pakistani schools in Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan will continue to stand by Afghan brothers, sisters through thick and thin: PM

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said Pakistan will continue to stand by Afghan brothers and sisters through thick and thin.

In a tweet on Saturday, he said the first consignment of relief goods for the flood affectees has reached Afghanistan to be followed by more relief measures.

The Prime Minister said the international community should not forget Afghan people in this hour of need.
