Creation of ‘UN Loss & Damage Fund’ big achievement: FM

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said the creation of “Loss and Damage” Fund at the UN Climate Change Conference in Egypt, last month to support the climate disasters hit countries is a significant achievement.

In an interview with the Arab News, he said this fund is something that climate activists have been struggling for the last 30 years.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said the agenda of the G77, is exactly that we represent the aspirations of the developing world.

He said the ‘Loss and Damage’ fund is a demonstration of developing nations wielding collective strength when they have a common cause.

The Foreign Minister said climate justice, climate catastrophe, knows no boundaries, does not care whether you’re rich or poor, whether you contributed to climate change much or you didn’t.

Shehbaz, Sherry discuss matters related to Ministry of Climate Change

Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Thursday.

She briefed the Prime Minister about the preparations for International conference on Climate Resilient Pakistan to be held in Geneva next month.

She also discussed matters related to the Ministry of Climate Change.

KP CM directs completion of formalities for academic activities in UVAS

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has directed the concerned authorities to complete all formalities on a priority basis for the commencement of academic activities at the newly established University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences.

This is the first-ever university of its kind in the province and of vital importance owning to growing needs of veterinary education in the region.

It is pertinent to mention here that the newly established university will provide education and research facilities in 20 different departments of three faculties.

Interior Minister visits PIMS Hospital, inquires about health of injured Constable

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Thursday visited PIMS Hospital, Islamabad and inquired after the health of Constable Muhammad Hanif, who got injured in I-10 bomb blast.

He presented the injured constable a flower bouquet and a cheque.

Commending the valiance of the constable, the Minister said the government will continue taking care of the injured security personnel.
