Japanese envoy assures continued support to Pakistan for mutual collaboration


Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan Wada Mitsuhiro called on Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif in Islamabad today.

During the meeting, he assured Japan’s continued support to Pakistan and to exploring new avenues of mutual collaboration.

The Minister for Defence expressed the desire that Japan would help create economic activities in Pakistan as well as bring investment in maritime and industrial manufacturing sectors.

He also commended the efforts of Japanese Government for regular holding of Pakistan-Japan Politico-Military and Military to Military Dialogues.

The Minister said bilateral interactions are a concrete expression of the desire of both the countries to enhance mutual defence collaboration.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz says all possible measures will be taken to eliminate terrorism from the province.

Presiding over a meeting of Provincial Apex Committee in Lahore today, she stressed the need to re-activate national action plan to fight menace of terrorism effectively.

The Chief Minister lauded the efforts and sacrifices of security forces in war against terrorism.

Speaking on the occasion, the Corps Commander Lahore Lt. Gen. Syed Aamir Raza said cooperation for elimination of terrorism will be continued.

He said effective measures are being taken for elimination of terrorism in the province.

He appreciated the work of the Counter Terrorism and other departments and institutions on their coordinated efforts in this regard.

Navy, ANF conduct joint anti-narcotics operation


Pakistan Navy and Anti-Narcotics Force conducted a joint anti-narcotics operation in Shinkani Dar coastal area near Gwadar and seized drugs containing 150 kilogrammes of ice.

Pakistan Navy is committed to prevent all illegal activities along the country’s maritime borders including the coastline.

This is the third consecutive successful operation against drugs by Pakistan Navy during the last thirty days.

PIA Announces Massive Discounts for 4 Destinations in Saudi Arabia


The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced some good news for Umrah pilgrims, Saudi resident visa holders, and work visa holders.

According to the national flag carrier’s announcement, fares have been reduced by a massive 30% for these individuals. PIA stated that fares for passengers traveling to Jeddah and Madinah will be reduced from April 7 to April 11, 2024.

Furthermore, passengers traveling to Riyadh and Dammam will also benefit from discounted fares until April 11. To extend support to Umrah pilgrims, PIA has implemented fare reductions of up to 20% during the specified period, from April 7 to April 11.

The economy class fare has been decreased by up to Rs50,000. Passengers traveling from the North region, including Lahore, will pay an economy class fare of Rs103,680.

Similarly, Umrah pilgrims from the South region, including Karachi, will be charged Rs95,400 for their journey.

Pakistan values relations with Azerbaijan: Rana Tanveer


Minister for Industries and Production and Food Security Rana Tanveer has said Pakistan values its relations with Azerbaijan.

Talking to the Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Islamabad, he said both the countries enjoy strong fraternal relations.

The Minister said development of the industries and agriculture is government’s top priority. He said practical steps are being taken to bolster exports. He noted the development of industries will stabilize the economy.

The Azeri Ambassador emphasized the need for working together in areas of mutual interest.
