Rana Shamim signed affidavit against former CJP in office of Nawaz Sharif: Fawad

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain says former chief judge of Gilgit-Baltistan Rana Shamim signed an affidavit against former chief justice of Pakistan in the office of Nawaz Sharif.

In a tweet on Sunday, the Information Minister said Rana Shamim tried to blackmail former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar and honorable sitting judges of the Islamabad High Court.

He said new revelations have once again proved that how Sicilian mafia is capable of blackmailing institutions including the courts.

President asks children to adopt values of unity, faith & discipline

President Dr. Arif Alvi has called for following principle of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah Unity, Faith and Discipline to make Pakistan prosperous.

Addressing a special ceremony titled “Quaid aur Bachay” in connection with Quaid Day in Islamabad, he said children are the future of the country.

The President advised the children to speak truth, respect elders and teachers to get success in life. He asked the children to always respect and take care of differently-abled children.

A cake cutting ceremony was also held on the occasion.

Earlier, visually-impaired child Hubaib-ur-Rehman recited verses from Holy Quran to formally begin the ceremony.

Children from different schools presented national anthem and patriotic songs to enthrall the audience.

Boy and girls performed on traditional folk songs depicting cultural diversity of the country.

A special song was also presented on the occasion to express the solidarity with the people of Indian Illegal Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

PM hails Russian President’s remarks against Islamophobia

Prime Minister Imran Khan has hailed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statement.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister urged Muslim leaders to spread this message to leaders of non-Muslim world to counter Islamophobia.

Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain in a tweet said it is the efforts of Prime Minister Imran Khan that an international leader like Vladimir Putin is presenting his opinion candidly.

Earlier, in his annual news conference Russian President Vladimir Putin said insulting the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) does not count as expression of artistic freedom.

He said insults to the Prophet (PBUH) are violation of religious freedom and sacred feelings of people who profess Islam.

Pakistan strongly condemns launch of hostile projectiles towards KSA

Pakistan has strongly condemned the launch of hostile projectiles by Houthis towards Samtah governorate in Jazan region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that resulted in casualties, injuries and damage to civilian infrastructure.

In a statement on Saturday, the Foreign Office Spokesperson said that such attacks not only violate international law but also threaten peace and security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the region.

He said Pakistan calls for immediate cessation of these attacks.

He said Pakistan reaffirms its full support and solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against any threats to its security and territorial integrity.

Pakistan playing role of bridge b/w Afghan govt, int’l community: Ambassador Mansoor

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmad Khan says Pakistan is playing role of a bridge between Afghan government and international community to address issues of an inclusive government, human rights, rule of law and counter terrorism in Afghanistan.

Talking to a select group of journalists in Islamabad, he stressed the need for constructive dialogue between Afghan government and international community to resolve these issues.

The Pakistani envoy said both sides should find out middle way of approach by showing flexibility in their stances regarding these issues, and come to the point which is in the interest of both the Afghan people as well as international community.

He said Pakistan has been stressing for peace and stability in Afghanistan since Kabul’s takeover by Taliban in August last.

To a question, he said the Afghan government has assured that the Afghan soil would not be used against any other country, including Pakistan.

Info Minister expresses deep grief and sorrow over the death of two journalists

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has expressed deep sorrow over the death of two journalists in a car-truck collision on Jhelum-Pir Shahab GT Road today (Monday).

In a statement, he expressed heartfelt condolence to the families of the journalists Malik Bostan and Sheikh Raza.

He prayed for high ranks to the departed souls in Jannah.

The Minister also prayed for early recovery of journalists Ghulam Qadir and Afzal who were injured in the accident.

Shaukat Tarin elected as senator from KP

Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance Shaukat Tarin has won the senate seat from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by securing 87 votes.

One hundred and twenty-two members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly cast their votes.

The senate seat was vacated after resignation of Muhammad Ayub Afridi.

Meanwhile, talking to media in Peshawar on Monday, newly elected Senator Shaukat Tarin reaffirmed his commitment to take steps for socio-economic uplift of people of the province.

He said people of the province have rendered matchless sacrifices during war against terrorism.

Shaukat Tarin said the government has launched Ehsaas Rashan Program in KP which will benefit twenty-million families.

He said that under the program, edible items including oil, pulses and flour will be provided on 30 percent subsidized rates.

AJK PM calls for convening OIC session on deteriorating human rights situation IIOJK

The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi has called for convening an OIC session on the deteriorating human rights situation in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking to media in Islamabad today (Monday), he said Pakistan has earned respect at the international level after successfully conducting the extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of OIC on Afghanistan.

Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi said India has been committing serious human rights violations in IIOJK and the world community should take notice of this.
