PM Imran Khan approved mega housing project for Kashmiri refugees: AJK PM

Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi says Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved a mega housing project for the Kashmiri refugees settled in different parts of the country.

He was talking to ministers and members of the AJK Legislative Assembly belonging to refugees’ constituencies in Muzaffarabad on Sunday.

Abdul Qayyum Niazi said under the project, 1300 families would be accommodated.

He said the AJK government will provide all-out resources for proper settlement of the refugees, giving them job opportunities, and other civic facilities.

He assured that the state government will implement refugees’ job quotas in letter and spirit.

AJK PM lauded the role of the refugees in the liberation movement and said they will not be left alone.

Vibrant local Govt system guarantees national development: PM

Prime Minister Imran Khan says an effective and vibrant local government system guarantees national development.

Chairing a meeting in Islamabad today (Thursday) regarding upcoming local government elections in Punjab, he said most of people’s problems can be resolved on their doorstep through an efficient local government system.

The Prime Minister said the objective of a local bodies system is to devolve powers at grassroots level; and for its success, every segment of the society particularly women, youth, farmers and traders must have equal representation in it.

CM Sindh forms committee to implement LG laws agreed with opposition

Sindh Cabinet has reviewed the progress in local government law and decided to implement the points agreed on with political parties in letter and spirit.

Chairing a meeting in Karachi today [Wednesday], Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah constituted a five member ministerial committee to enforce the points agreed on with talks in political parties.

Speaking on the occasion, Murad Ali Shah said that points agreed by local bodies minister Syed Nasir Shah in talks with political parties will be implemented.

The meeting also accorded approval of third party open bidding for recruitments on 2113 vacant posts from grade-5 to 15 in prison department.

The party will be selected through open bidding that will conduct test of candidates for recruitments.

Peshawar nominated for sustainable transport award 2022: Farrukh

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Farrukh Habib says inclusion of Bus Rapid Transport Peshawar among three major cities in the world as best Transport service is a major achievement.

In a tweet, he said Peshawar has been nominated for the 2022 Sustainable Transport Award for its state-of-the-art rapid bus service.

The awards ceremony will be held on 9th of this month in Washington DC.

37 elected LG reps from Bannu join PTI

A total of thirty-seven newly elected representatives from Bannu, who won during the first phase of local bodies elections have joined Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf.

According to report, the elected representatives called on Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan in Peshawar and announced their joining of the party.

Chief Minister Mahmood Khan welcomed them for joining PTI.

Mahmood Khan termed the joining of a large number of newly elected local body representatives as public confidence in the government.

Commissioner Peshawar Division assures family of slain Priest of speedy justice

Commissioner Peshawar Division along with Deputy Commissioner Peshawar on Monday visited the residence of priest William Siraj who was killed on Sunday and offered condolences to his family members.

They assured the family of the deceased and the Christian community that culprits involved in the killing of the priest will be brought to justice at the earliest.

Sindh govt to compensate affectees of Cooperative, Victoria markets: CM Murad

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has announced that affectees of Cooperative and Victoria markets in Karachi will be compensated by the provincial government.

He was talking to the delegation of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by Zubair Motiwala in Karachi on Monday.

A joint committee comprising Provincial Ministers Saeed Ghani, Jam Ikram, Chairman Planning and Development and others was constituted for verification of shops.

Three hundred ninety eight shops were affected in fire that broke out in both the markets in Karachi.

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar says Prime Minster Imran Khan is committed to ensure rapid development of the country through his prudent policies.

Talking to media in Bahalwalpur on Sunday, he said that development and prosperity of Southern Punjab is foremost priority of the government.

Talking about opposition call of protest marches, the governor said that the government will complete its constitutional tenure and nefarious designs of anti-government forces will meet failure.
