Govt allocates Rs33bn for uplift of agriculture sector: Jamshed Iqbal

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Food Security Jamshed Iqbal Cheema says the government has allocated funds of 33 billion rupees for the uplift of agriculture sector.

Talking to newsmen in Lahore in today (Sunday), he said that new dams are being constructed and the canal system is being upgraded to bring more area under cultivation.

He said so far 4.1 million olive trees have been planted in the country.

Federal govt transferred Rs1800bn to Sindh during past two years

Minister for Information & Broadcasting Fawad Chaudary has said PTI wants to strengthen the Parliament.

Addressing the media at Karachi Press Club today (Sunday), he said the Opposition parties have no agenda and they are weakening the parliament and the democracy.

The Minister said PTI-led federal government has transferred 1800 billion rupees to the Sindh government during the past two years and asked as to where the money was utilized and why it is not being spent on Karachi’s uplift.

Responding to question he said the stance of Prime Minister Imran Khan is clear that the use of bases or the territory of Pakistan will not be allowed for action in Afghanistan.

The office bearers of the Karachi press club also called on Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Hussain Chaudhry.

Talking on the occasion, the Minister said a three-month training course related to digital media including short videos production has been designed for media persons.
