PM pays rich tribute to security forces for successful operation against terrorists in Zhob

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has paid rich tribute to the security forces for successful operation against terrorists in Zhob area of Balochistan on Sunday.

In a message, he said brave sons of the nation are crushing nefarious designs of terrorists.

Paying tribute to Sepoy Haq Nawaz who was martyred during the Zhob operation, Shehbaz Sharif said the whole nation salutes its security forces and is proud of its martyrs.

The Prime Minister expressed his sympathy with the bereaved family of martyred sepoy Haq Nawaz and prayed for his eternal peace and highest ranks in Jannah.

Federal Minister, MNAs call on PM in Islamabad

Minister for Housing and Works Maulana Abdul Wasay called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the Housing Minister briefed the Prime Minister about performance of his ministry. Overall political situation of the country also came under discussion.

Meanwhile, Members National Assembly Chaudhry Muhammad Hamid Hameed, Muhammad Afzal Khokhar and Sheikh Rohail Asghar also called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman says minorities enjoy complete economic, political and religious freedom in Pakistan.

Speaking at a cake cutting ceremony in connection with Christmas in Lahore on Sunday, he said Christian community is playing pivotal role in various sectors for progress and development of the country.

The governor also greeted Christian community in Pakistan and across the globe on their Christmas festival.

CM Punjab approves installation of 500 solar water pumps in 13 districts

Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has approved installation of five hundred solar water pumps in thirteen districts of the province.

Chairing a meeting in Lahore on Saturday, he said water will be available for over two thousand acre of arid land in first phase.

Reiterating his commitment to install solar water pumps gradually in other districts of the province, Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi said installation of pumps will also ensure drinking water in far flung villages of the province.

Army Chief, Centcom Chief discuss regional security situation

Commander United States Central Command General Michael Erik Kurilla visited GHQ in Rawalpindi today.

The visiting dignitary laid floral wreath at Martyrs’ Monument in honour of the Martyrs of Pakistan.

A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented guard of honour to the visiting dignitary.

Later, Commander CENTCOM called on Chief of Army Staff followed by delegation level meeting.

Matters of mutual interest, regional stability and security situation, defence and security cooperation particularly military to military ties were discussed during the meeting.

The Visiting dignitary acknowledged Pakistan’s achievements in fight against terrorism, flood relief and contributions for regional peace. The delegation will also visit Torkham today.

He will be apprised on counter terrorism and border management mechanisms in place along Pakistan-Afghanistan Border.

Tajik President arrives in Islamabad on two-day official visit

Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon has arrived in Islamabad on a two-day official visit to Pakistan.

On arrival at the airport, he was received by Minister for Commerce Naveed Qamar.

During the visit, the two sides will exchange views on further strengthening bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas.

A number of bilateral agreements and MoUs are expected to be signed.

The Tajik President’s visit to Pakistan is expected to impart a renewed impetus to deepening cooperation between the two countries in diverse fields and further strengthen the growing geo-economic partnership.

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon will meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad today and discuss bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.

Prior to the meeting, a guard of honor will be presented to the visiting dignitary by a contingent of armed forces.

There will be delegation level talks between the two sides.

A number of bilateral agreements and MoUs will be signed for promotion of cooperation in diverse fields.

Both the leaders will also address a joint news conference.

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon to arrive in Pakistan on Dec 14

Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon is arriving on a two-day official visit to Pakistan on Wednesday.

During the visit, the two sides will exchange views on further strengthening bilateral cooperation in a wide range of areas. A number of bilateral agreements and MoUs are expected to be signed.

The Tajik President’s visit to Pakistan is expected to impart a renewed impetus to deepening cooperation between the two countries in diverse fields and further strengthen the growing geo-economic partnership.

In a statement, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that Pakistan and Tajikistan are brotherly countries linked through longstanding historical, cultural and religious bonds. She said these ties are marked by mutual respect and exceptional cordiality. The two countries have commonality of views on various regional and international issues.
