No mention of torture in Shehbaz Gill’s medical report: Senate informed

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Javed Abbasi has rejected the opposition’s impression that the PTI leader Shehbaz Gill has been subjected to torture during physical remand.

Speaking in the Senate today amidst the pandemonium of PTI senators, he pointed out that there is no mention of torture in the medical report presented before the court. He said it was the PTI which used to victimize political opponents during its era.

Murtaza Javed Abbasi regretted that the PTI is bent upon ruining the political environment of the country after playing havoc with its economy.

Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman said we recognize the right of fair trial. She also mentioned that the report presented before the court does not indicate any torture against Shehbaz Gill.

Earlier, Leader of the House Shehzad Waseem, in his remarks, said they have no objection to a fair trial but there should not be any room for torture and inhumane treatment.

As the PTI Senators continued its rumpus in the house, the Chair prorogued the session.
